Announcing WCR confirmed results

Les Croupiers Running Club is pleased to confirm that the results of the 2019 Welsh Castles Relay are now finalised. As in previous years, during and after the race queries arose about the provisional results and time penalties applied, which inevitably takes several days to resolve. We would like to thank Team Captains for raising issues with John Upstone this past week, our Race Referees where adjudication was required, and John himself for carefully considering each query and finalising the results - John has managed the WCR Results Service since 1986 and we so grateful for his commitment an hard work here. We aimed to confirm the results by the end of today Sunday 16 June and have done so, timescales consistent with previous race years.

Our Race Director and Chairman John Griffin (BEM), who received the British Empire Medal for services to Welsh Athletics on Day One of the 2019 WCR, will be arranging for awards to be delivered and where possible presented to this year’s winning teams. We would like to congratulate all of this year’s category winners, and indeed everyone who took part in or supported this year’s Welsh Castles Relay.

Results update

Apologies again on behalf of Les Croupiers for the delay in confirming the results of the 2019 WCR. John Upstone has been working hard to review all queries received, potential errors regarding, challenges, penalty times applied and decisions requiring referral to the Race Referee. His aim has been to Finalise by close of play Sunday the 16th June. As many of you will have noticed, the Provisional Results and positions have just about stabilised but there are still a few where formal confirmation is pending. We appreciate that for everyone involved this is frustrating, especially those teams so deserving of knowing if they were successful in securing a podium position last weekend. On the plus side this still gives the last chance for any last minute queries - which must be submitted by Team Captains

Provisional Results

Many thanks once again to everyone who ran, marshalled, supported and made possible this year’s Welsh Castles Relay. Les Croupiers Running Club would like to apologise for the delay in confirming the main category winners of this year’s race, awarding prizes to in Cardiff last night, and publishing the results.

As the night owls amongst you have already noticed, the Provisional Results were published on-line earlier today (2:30am) BUT PLEASE NOTE that we are still working our way through a stack of queries about individual race results and race penalties - both errors and those requiring Race Referee referral. As Mick said the closing ceremony, it’s essential we get this right.

We have also set-up up a special account for all race result queries and possible challenges requiring Race Referree consideration - this for use by Team Captains via whom we request that all queries are submitted:
