Are you doing Berlin? If so......

........then Phil needs to hear from you;

Hi All
I'm trying to workout who is going to Berlin for the Marathon this year and I've lost track of names. If you are going could you please let me know, we can then try and put some arrangements together.

Best wishes to Liz Sowter and Ben Merrifield......

......On their forthcoming nuptials. Liz and Ben will be tying the knot tomorrow afternoon on the beautiful Gower peninsular. With a bit of luck the weather gods will look favourably on the wedding party and bless them with a beach weekend to remember.

Very best wishes for your future together from all of your friends at Les Croupiers.

Club Mascot

I hope you all enjoyed watching the World Athletics Champs last week. I must agree with the pundits who thought it one of the best global athletics championships ever. However, not only were the athletics of the highest order, but so were the attempts to market the city.

What did you make of Berlino? Brendan Foster and Steve Cram got very irritated by him initially, and "he" was at times intrusive. However, these are difficult times for the marketing of mainstream athletics, and any attempts to create entertainment should be viewed in a positive light, IMHO.

And so to the inevitable question - if Les Croupiers were to employ such a mascot - who would it be? OK - I know we have a natural candidate in Flash. There's another possible - the only member to come to the bar in a gorilla costume - so perhaps our mascot should be called Danielo.

But what do you think? Hey, we have a forum - let's kick it off with a bit of light hearted banter!

Cardiff 10 km - Entry Update

Race Organiser Graham Finlayson phoned me to say that a recent surge of entries has meant that the limit of 2250 has almost been reached. If you wish to enter and haven't yet done so, please send off immediately. Graham wishes to close entries on Sunday 30th (earlier if demand dictates).

There will categorically be no entries on the day.
