Club Honours Board

Following a number of requests we are creating a Club Honours Board to record the history of Les Croupiers at major events over the past 30 years and also many of the individual awards that we have either presented or have won.

Club Awards

2017 winners will be announced at the Club Dinner Dance on 18 March.

A few things to note:

  1. Some awards were/have not been presented every year for one reason or another.
  2. The John H Davies Award has been presented to different categories since it began:
    1. Veteran of the Year
    2. Athlete of the Year
    3. Male Athlete of the Year
  3. The Female Athlete has now been renamed the Liz Kirwan Award

Mug of the Month

Ever since the club was founded, we have made a monthly award called ‘ Mug of the Month’.

The award is a hand crafted coffee mug and is much sought after.

The winning recipient(s) will have done or achieved something particularly notable.

This is often a significant PB or breaking an important barrier but may also be for other services to the club.

Any member can make nominations and the club statistician also makes statistical nominations. All nominees need to be fully paid-up members at the time of nomination. There is only one other rule – a member cannot win more than one mug in a twelve-month period.

The club committee will consider the nominations and make a decision regarding the awarding of mugs. They decide to award one or more mugs.  Conversely, as this is an important award the committee may decide to make no award at all.

Club Safety Guidelines

The following advice is intended to keep our runners SAFE at all times!
It is also essential that, whilst out running as a club, we are seen to be polite, responsible, set a good example & not put others at risk.
AT ALL TIMES BE SAFE BE SEEN! You can never be too visible! During the day, always wear bright or light-coloured clothing - fluorescent is good.
At night we would strongly recommend that people ALWAYS wear light-coloured clothing plus a REFLECTIVE (not just fluorescent) bib or sash.
Clip on flashers are a great way to be seen. NEVER ASSUME YOU'VE BEEN SEEN. Always be cautious with traffic.
We would like to remind people that they are responsible for their own safety and that they run at their own risk.
