Old forum > Castles Inspiration!

Manic May is over & we’re into Jolly June & the Castles Relay. So click on the link below for some inspirational music. To my mind it is indicative of the tussles to come over the Welsh mountains. If you have a music player & sound on your computer, the player should launch & you should hear music from a lyrical action sequence from a 1960’s film.

Click me to hear film theme.

What was the name of the film & the historical event it signifies?

Who wrote the music?

The competition is open to any who have not won before. Whoever gets the name of the program first will get a free drink from me at the bar on a Thursday night.

Best of luck with the Castles Relay!

Hi Howard

This is from The Battle of Britain with an all star cast including Michael Caine and Christopher Plummer. If you watch carefully, you will even spot Ian Mcshane later to become a household name as Lovejoy. I am sure there will be plenty of dogfights of a different kind taking place this weekend.

Well done Clive, I owe you a drink!

The music was by Sir William Walton.
