Jeff, on the subject of mystery runner no.100, I've just looked back through my photos I took and there doesn't appear to be anyone between Roy (195) and Gareth (116). I can't be 100% sure as there is a tiny bit of the path out of the frame but if there was another runner they would have had to be pretty far over
and almost running on the edge of the grass.

I don`t think there was anyone between Roy and Myself apart from a a large gap.

Any more detail on who the gap looked like? lol,

If two different opinions confirm a gap between them, could it have been a finisher warming down that went through the finish twice.
Is there a double number recorded.
(I have now finished the WMAA Medal list and will send them to the Welsh Masters website and to Jeff to put on Les Croups results).

i believe my time was 35:54 as i heared mel call out the time. also i was a good distance from Dominic.

Thank you, Alan - that is extremely helpful. It indicates that the positions and times are "1 place out of sequence as at position 76"
If anyone ahead of position 76 could confirm what they believed their time to be, or more importantly if the gap between themselves and the next runner ahead or behind is inaccurate - please post here.
For example, I finished 22nd and I agree with my official time of 30:25.
Therefore - the mistake occurs between positions 22 and 76.

33.29 confirmed by my watch (33.28) & finished just ahead of Gerry Crispie & a gap in front.

I had 35:39 on my Garmin in 75th and the gap to the person in front of me seemed more like 2 seconds than 6 but its easy to get that estimation wrong.

I have taken the above comments and now come up with this amended result

I timed myself at 34:54- Not sure on the gap back to Graeme.

Many thanks to everyone involved in organising and supporting yesterday's race. Whilst I'm flattered to be named in various threads as the winner of the W35-39 category, the results list Clare Biddlecombe, San Dom, in position 69 and me in position 79.

The time of 35.37 was called out as i went past the finish only a second out on mywatch and I was a second or two ahead of Dominic which is now correct rather than the original 35.31. Hope this helps

Although the second set of provisional results are better than the first, the photo gallery, kindly provided by Sarah Perons, is very revealing.
Particularly look at positions 72 and 73. According to the results now, David E Williams (117) comes 72nd in 35:15, and Gary John (183) 73rd in 35:16. So you'd expect to see them close together. Examine the proximity of an athlete in light blue just behind each athlete. It is unclear whether this athlete is in the race, but these two photos and respective results (I believe) hold the key to the descrepancy. It may still, however, be hard to resolve. It would be helpful if David and Gary made a note of their personal times.

Jeff, I never look behind me in a race, no matter what. So I,m of no help sorry.

I can help you out here on my garmin my time was 35:13 very close to the time I was given of 35:15, but I don't think I was a full 10 seconds behide Kell he did think he had or was close to his pb for 5 miles would be worth ask him if he noted his time hope this helps!!

Hi Dave.

Just looking at Sarah's Picture of me and you in the finish straight. I did not have my Garmin on.

I do agree, I had my usual sprint finish but find it hard to believe our gap was 10 seconds at the end. I was just ahead of you at the right hand bend going on to the straight.
Also Gary John seems to be quite a distance behing us.

Going back to Mick's reference to the mystery runner in light blue, I have had a close look at my original photos at a higher resolution than the web pics to see if they throw any light on the issue. In the sequence of photos light blue man appears to be racing alongside Gary, he then tails off at the near finish as Gary races ahead, and then can be spotted in later photos alongside the path at the finish in conversation with a spectator. However, he is NOT wearing a race number - he is wearing a T shirt with a picture on the front. So it's still not clear if he was a racer who didn't wear his number or a jogger who thought he'd join the race. But it is quite possible that because of all this lack of clarity he caused confusion.

Kell, I think (not being a great judge of distances though) that I was about 20yds from the line. Whatever it was exactly, from my recollection I'd be surprised if you had managed to create a 10 sec gap in that space...unless of course Dave's battery had run down and any superhuman powers you may possess had come into play...

I cannot put the final medalists on the WMAA website until the times are confirmed correct, as there are still queries on the second set.
I am awaiting confirmation to print, otherwise I will print medalists without times.
