Thanks James, I am definitely tempted by this. I just know I'll have to be very much on the ball to get ready for an exam I have around that time. Because both are some way off in the future, no doubt I'll enter the marathon and have a mad panic in September having done no training and no revising1

I've been taking a quick look at this.. and these are some estimated costs..for those interested.. registration will open early in 2012..
Flight approx. 150 (allow 40-50 to get to the airport) from heathrow

Yes me, Gareth and Caroline are booked on LOT 6.35 Friday morning from Heathrow, returning on 15.10 flight Tuesday afternoon.
Looking forward to this one, with 3 weeks to recover before Snowdonia Marathon. Not sure whether I can manage the Cardiff Half in between though ......

Just been advised by Warsaw Marathon that "1st April 2012 it will be open for sure".

We've got a reservation at the Novotel Warszawa Centrum hotel, centrally located and looks to be about 3-5k from the race start and finish. Double superior room for 4 nights for £341 (1806 polish zloty) which is around £43 pp pn. Cost around £9 (refundable) to make this reservation which can be cancelled up to 18.00 on day of arrival.

I've just had an email from the race organisers they are finalising the course now.. but it will finsh in the national stadium !
and it is powerade on the course..
"we don't know when the course will be finalised yet, but we are sure thet the finish line will be on the National Stadium - Rondo Waszyngtona, near the Poniatowskiego Bridge. It is close to the center of the city."

A few of us are planning on doing the Warsaw marathon next year.. the date is 30th Sept 2012.. if your interested in coming along..
entries open in March next year so you still have time to think about it..
hotels are reasonably priced.. and flights with BA are direct from Heathrow.. the marathon has 5000 people give or take.. and is noted as a flat fast course..

Many of the hotels do bike hire and offer great priced beer.. food is reasonable in Poland.You can get your pasta loading prior to the race..
