Your club needs you!
January 22, 2005
Next Sunday (30th January) sees the annual 10 mile handicap as a prelude to the AGM. It’s an important day in any year, but as this is our 25th anniversary, it seems too good an opportunity to pass up and celebrate being part of the great club on the planet!
And I stress the words “being part of”. That applies to the Handicap as well. It’s a great event in theory in that it gives us all an equal chance of crossing the line first. However, it was noticeable on the last couple of Thursdays that several members were investigating what time they were given, and were declining to enter. This is not an event to be self-conscious! It’s an event to simply be part of. If you’re not that fit currently, then have a run round and use it as a means to an end. If you’re injured, then please marshall, support and encourage! The club’s strength is the commitment and unity of its members, regardless of ability. Come and be a part of it!

As a non member of Les Croups am I allowed to take part ?
Yes, but it would be helpful if you could pay in advance. It's only £3, you get a free meal after the race. Please could you also give an accurate prediction of your race time (to the nearest minute).
Start and finish in Pontcanna Fields (opposite Halfway Pub). All athletes scheduled to finish at 11.00 AM, so if your handicap time is 65 mins., you start at 9.55 AM.
NB To anyone else - we do accept guests, but would prefer you enter in advance - Thursday evening in club (Llandaff Rugby Club after 8.30 PM) would be best.
I'm injuried so can't run but can help marshall if you need any help - but I won't be at the club on Thursday.
Thanks for any help you can give. Ruth Collishaw is our Marshalls Co-ordinator - please could you see her as early as practicable on Sunday, so we make sure no one gets lost.
Hi,
I can't be at the club Thurs, but am travelling to Cardiff for the Handicap & AGM.Can I be entered please (and I don't know, or care, what handicap time I've been given, Mick - it's just great to run in Croups colours and catch up with old friends!).
and it will be great to see you, too, Ron. I will advise Ken tonight so you can pick your number up on the morning.
