Born to Run

Running is in the news after a Nature article on human evolution is summarised by the Telegraph, the BBC, Reuters, and there’s a much more technical discussion on Pharyngula.

If anyone wants the original Nature article, I can supply it for them. Posted by: Matt at November 19, 2004 03:37 PM
Also an abridged version of the original article on the Nature web site. Posted by: Tim at November 19, 2004 08:21 PM
Obvious thought (whilst washing up..). Don't want to sound impatient or anything, but does anyone know how much longer I've got to wait before we evolve ITBs, achiles t's, knees etc that can cope with (i) nasty hard concrete and tarmac, as opposed to nice spongy Rift Valley floor covering, AND (ii) middle age (another birthday approaches...) rather than the 25-35 year life expectancy we were short sightedly selected and designed for ? Maybe we can use GM technology to speed things up (any bright ideas Dennis ?!!) Posted by: Tim at November 19, 2004 08:59 PM
