Guess who was the third member of our winning Male Veteran's team on Sunday?
Correct - none other than Alan Mann. Officiandos may like to joke at Alan's expense, about his unorthodox running garb etc., but you can't knock his commitment.
And an important point for members of other running clubs who chose not to compete - you don't win prizes if you're not on the start line!
For the record, Croups had 9 athletes in the Senior Men / Vets race (Swansea had the next most with four).
Team Result: Senior: 1 Swansea, 2 Croups "A" (Richie Bullen, Phil Cook, Rob Jones), 3 Croups "B" (Simon Nurse, Barry Johnston - an excellent run, Peter Kellam) and Vets: 1 Croups (David Miller - first race for the club, David Bright, and the one and only Alan Mann).
Well done also to young Scholey who also had an excellent run in the Ladies Race. And thanks to everyone who helped in whatever capacity.

It's great in one way though sad in another, as we cannot hide the fact that we are by and large a club of old and in some cases very quick old codgers, that we can put out such a turnout in local races.
