Founded during the running boom, when we formed as a breakaway social road-running club from the more earnest Cardiff AAC, we have grown over the past 25 years into one of the largest running clubs in South Wales. We compete in road, cross-country, multi-terrain, and track races.

We meet for a training run every Thursday evening at Llandaff Rugby Club, Cardiff, followed (by most of us) with food and drink in the clubhouse. If you’re thinking about joining, this is the place to start. Members of other clubs and prospective members are welcome to join us. And if you want to know if you’re fast enough (or we’re fast enough for you), you can check our race results, where you should be able to find someone whose times compare with yours.
We organise the 210 mile North to South Wales Welsh Castles Relay (June 2008), run (in both senses) the Barry 40, and host races on the roads of Cardiff for veterans and women and ladies.
Several of our original members are still active runners and, up to 2002, two of them had finished every London Marathon. Now, only one — Jeff Aston — still has an unbroken series.
We now have a Triathlon section for those of you into cool shades, all-over wetsuits (yeah!) and other show-off opulence goodies. Can’t run? We welcome “Can’t swim, can’t bike” as well.
There’s a different photo on this page for every day of the week. They no longer change when you reload the page as I decided that was cheesy. I’ve put up a page of all seven Photos on the Home Page.
For the past few years I’ve been building an archive of results from races members have run (and finished). A lot of clubs discard older results, so this site is one the few where you may be able to find records of your earlier performances. I’m only sorry that I didn’t start this sooner, and that it doesn’t go back before 2000.
We’re hosted by Mythic Beasts. I was sorry to learn of the death of founder (and the reason I switched) Chris Lightfoot in February 2007.
I have not given up on coding a blog and discussion board etc, and I know you all hate me for, well, not doing anything at all for the past couple of years, but there is now a blog (which certain members can post on too, and I will add more soon) here. I will add a bulletin board soon.
It's Les Croupiers Blog here.
